Q: How do you offer your sessions?
I offer in-person sessions in Calgary and online counselling. Sessions are 60 minutes long. I follow the ethical and confidentiality standards of my counselling association, ACCT. I utilize knowledge and styles from various therapies into my practice. Two main therapeutic styles that I use in my practice are Person-Centred and Psychodynamic; depending on your needs, I also use Gestalt, Existential, Somatic, and Coherence therapy techniques in my practice.
I am fluent in English, Punjabi, and Hindi, and can offer my services in either of these languages.
My office is located in Varsity, NW. Please visit my Contact page for address information.
Q: What happens in the sessions?
In our first couple of sessions, we’ll explore what brings you to therapy and review relevant aspects of your family and medical history. As we continue, we’ll dig deeper into the issues that are currently affecting you. The structure of our sessions is flexible—you can express anything that’s on your mind, as there are no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ things to say. I’ll be actively listening, looking for patterns and understanding how emotional, physical, and mental challenges may be influencing your life and preventing you from reaching your desired state.
Therapy is a collaborative process. The therapeutic relationship we build together is crucial—it exists in the present and often mirrors the issues you may be facing in other areas of your life. That’s why it’s important for you to be open about how you’re feeling during our sessions, whether things are working or not working for you. Your feedback ensures we’re moving forward in a way that feels right for you.
Q: How long will my therapy last?
The length of therapy varies depending on the issues you bring, your goals, and the work you’ve already done on yourself. It’s also influenced by how deep we go in exploring your thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. The fact that you’re here indicates you’re ready for change, which is a great start. Understand that the patterns of thinking and feeling that influence how we experience the world have taken years to develop. Transforming these long-standing patterns takes time and effort. Therapy isn’t a quick fix—it requires patience, commitment, and the willingness to do the work. While it may be challenging, it’s often one of the most rewarding journeys you can undertake.

Q: What’s behind the name – “Golden Leaf Therapy”?
For me “Golden Leaf” signifies change, growth, illumination, beauty, and preciousness; it’s something also sacred and divine. Have you ever noticed a leaf falling from a tree? Even in its fall, its graceful, and emanates natural shimmering beauty. The leaf has served its purpose in its greenness by providing food, shelter, and beauty, and as it lays on the ground it continues to provide food, shelter, and beauty. It gives rise to new life, but just in a different form. There’s much to learn from this humble leaf. Counselling for me is just that – a golden leaf that provides hope, growth, and a reminder that beauty lives on within us under all circumstances.
