For decades, the realms of science and spirituality have often been viewed as opposites — one rooted in evidence and logic, the other in intuition and the intangible. Yet, as we delve deeper into understanding the human mind and body, it’s becoming increasingly clear that these two worlds are not as separate as they seem. My practice seeks to bridge this gap by integrating counselling, a science-backed therapeutic approach, with Reiki, a spiritual energy healing practice rooted in Japanese tradition.
Healing is as much about connection as it is about tools or techniques. In my practice, I integrate counselling — a process rooted in dialogue, understanding, and relationship — with Reiki, a spiritual practice that taps into the subtle energies of the body. This combination offers a unique way to address the complexities of human experience, blending the analytical and intuitive aspects of healing.
Counselling invites a deep conversation — between you and me, but also within yourself. It uses the structured, left-brain approach of analysis to dissect challenges, uncover patterns, and find solutions. This logical exploration is invaluable in helping clients process experiences, reframe narratives, and set goals. At the same time, our conversations open the door to right-brain tendencies: intuition, creativity, and the ability to see the broader picture. Together, these aspects foster a balance between understanding and connecting, thinking and feeling.
Reiki complements this beautifully. Where counselling encourages you to engage actively with your thoughts and emotions, Reiki invites stillness — a letting go of the need to know or fix. It taps into the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit, creating space for energy to flow and for a sense of wholeness to emerge. This integration reflects the harmony of Eastern and Western philosophies, combining the practical with the mystical.
Clients often find that this dual approach helps them engage with their struggles on multiple levels. They feel supported not only by the structure and empathy of our conversations but also by the quiet, restorative power of Reiki. This blend acknowledges that healing isn’t just about solving problems — it’s about rediscovering balance, nurturing self-awareness, and creating meaningful connections.
In a world that often pushes us to choose between the rational and the spiritual, this approach reminds us that both are essential. Healing involves the whole brain and the whole being: the analytical mind that seeks answers and the intuitive spirit that embraces connection and possibility.
