Couples Therapy in Calgary
Looking for couples therapy in Calgary that helps you move from conflict to connection? At Golden Leaf Therapy, I work with couples to uncover the deeper patterns in their relationship, break free from old cycles, and build new ways of relating – through honesty, skill-building, and emotional depth.

What Happens Between Two People
Relationships, like people, carry history.
Over time, what once connected you can become clouded by the weight of family, work, culture, or unmet expectations.
At Golden Leaf Therapy, I help couples uncover repeating patterns, understand their roots, and learn to relate more consciously – to each other, and to themselves.
I draw from Relational Life Therapy (RLT) – a bold, skill-based approach that’s direct yet compassionate.
This work looks at how you relate – not just what’s happening between you, but why.
Many patterns come from early family dynamics or cultural influences. These adaptations may have helped you survive – but they may no longer help you connect.
What to Expect in Couples Counselling
First Sessions:
Full intake of your relationship history, patterns, and goals
Ongoing Work:
We identify dynamics, develop accountability, and practice tools to shift how you relate
Session Length: 90 minutes
Couples work takes time. These sessions are longer to allow space for real change.
Common Relationship Challenges I Work With
- Ongoing arguments or circular conflicts
- Emotional distance or a loss of intimacy
- Breaches of trust
- Life-stage transitions, parenting stress
- Cultural and intergenerational tensions
- Interfaith or interracial relationship challenges
My Approach: Relational Life Therapy (RLT)
We begin with curiosity. The first few sessions help us understand your relational history – how you became who you are, and how that shapes your dynamic.
From there, we map out the “dance” – the interaction patterns that keep disconnection in place.
Together, we’ll:
- Explore how early experiences and cultural beliefs affect your relationship
- Examine power dynamics, self-esteem, and boundaries
- Identify the adaptive roles each partner plays
- Learn new ways to speak, listen, and show up
This work is challenging, intimate, and transformative.
It’s not about fixing – it’s about changing how you relate to each other and to yourself.
Why I offer Couples Work
My commitment to this work is personal.
I’ve done it myself – facing hard truths and building something stronger.
I believe we’re shaped by our relationships. Changing how we love changes how we live.
This work is generational – it affects how we parent, how we connect, and how we move through the world.
