What happens in an individual therapy session?
In individual counselling, we explore what brings you in – whether that’s emotional exhaustion, anxiety, disconnection, or a recent life event. Together, we examine patterns shaped by your history, culture, and inner life. Therapy becomes a space for reflection, clarity, and change.
How long does therapy usually take?
There is no one-size-fits-all answer. Therapy moves at your pace. Some clients come for short-term support around a specific issue. Others choose longer-term work to address deeper emotional or relational concerns. We revisit your goals regularly and move at a rhythm that respects your needs.
What can couples counselling help with?
Couples therapy addresses relational patterns that create disconnection. This includes:
- Repetitive conflict or communication issues
- Emotional distance or loss of intimacy
- Infidelity or trust breaches
- Cultural or intergenerational differences
- Parenting stress or life transitions
I use Relational Life Therapy (RLT) to help partners understand their dynamic, take accountability, and learn to relate in more honest, grounded ways.
What is the Relational Life Therapy (RLT) approach?
RLT recognizes that couples bring old wounds and learned roles into their relationship. We explore how each partner’s family history, culture, and experiences shape the current dynamic. This approach is:
- Experiential and skill-based
- Focused on personal and relational accountability
- Rooted in compassion and change
RLT is both confronting and compassionate – it helps you show up differently for your partner and yourself.
What does the first session look like?
The first session is part conversation, part inquiry. For individuals, we explore your current struggles and the personal history that shaped them. For couples, we look at your relational story – how the relationship began, what’s not working now, and what each partner brings to the dynamic.
How many sessions will we need?
It depends on your goals. Some people find clarity within a few sessions. Others prefer ongoing work to untangle deeper patterns. Either way, I’ll support you in reviewing progress and deciding what’s right for you.
Do you offer online therapy?
Yes. I offer secure, confidential online therapy across Alberta and beyond. Many clients appreciate the flexibility of online sessions, especially with full schedules or limited access to in-person therapy.
What languages do you offer therapy in?
Therapy is available in English, Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu – in-person and online. You’re welcome to speak in the language that feels most authentic to you.
What are your fees?
- Individual Counselling: $120 per 60-minute session
- Couples Counselling: $135 per hour (typically 90 minutes = $202.50)
All sessions are offered in-person in NW and SW Calgary, or virtually across Alberta and BC
Why the name “Golden Leaf Therapy”?
The golden leaf symbolizes transformation. Like a leaf in autumn – past its peak, yet rich in beauty – it represents maturity, healing, and the potential for growth. Therapy invites a similar process: releasing what no longer serves while nurturing what still wants to bloom.
