Individual Counselling in Calgary

Life unfolds in ways that can leave us questioning, disconnected, or simply enduring. Whether you’re navigating exhaustion, self-doubt, or a quiet unease you can’t name, individual counselling offers a space to slow down and understand what’s been carried – and why it still echoes today.
At Golden Leaf Therapy, I offer in-person therapy in NW Calgary and online sessions across Alberta. Each session is 60 minutes and $120.
What Brings People to Counselling
Clients come to therapy with concerns that range from well-defined to quietly persistent. You might be experiencing:
- Ongoing stress, anxiety, or burnout
- Low self-worth or self-criticism
- Feeling disconnected from others or from yourself
- Uncertainty about your direction or identity
- Difficulty adapting to change
- Emotional exhaustion with no clear cause
These difficulties often trace back to earlier experiences – family systems, cultural expectations, and formative relationships. Therapy helps uncover the roots and create space for change, compassion, and resilience.
My Approach to Individual Counselling
I take a depth-oriented, relational approach to therapy. Our work together unfolds over time and may include cultural context, intergenerational roles, and the invisible pressures that shape your sense of self.
The First Session
Our first meeting is a starting point – a chance to speak openly about what brings you in. We’ll explore your history: early family dynamics, significant events, and relationship patterns that may still influence your emotional world today.
Ongoing Sessions
Over time, we begin to notice patterns – thoughts, behaviours, and emotional responses that repeat. Together, we gently examine where these came from, how they served you, and whether they still fit.
Pace and Direction
This work moves at your pace. My role isn’t to give you quick fixes, but to help you reflect with honesty and care – so you can better understand what’s shaped you and begin to move toward the life you long for.
Why Work With Me
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in a high-pressure industry while raising a family. I know firsthand what it’s like to appear composed on the outside while feeling fractured inside. That lived experience informs how I show up: with presence, nuance, and a deep respect for the complexity of your inner world.
